Patience is a powerful tool for success.
There are many keys to success, and patience is one of them. But people want everything to happen overnight. When we walk into a building and the Wi-Fi isn't very fast, we get upset. If our text message or Snapchat takes longer than two seconds to send, we are frustrated and impatient. The fact is that our culture expects immediate results. And our surrounding gadgets, systems, and services are moving faster just to meet our expectations. For example, restaurants like McDonald's and Taco Bell test the delivery system, so the customer can get their food as quickly and easily as possible. Amazon is testing delivery drones to speed up travel time. When available, we wish our order to arrive less than a second after clicking a purchase. Although I do everything I can to make it easier and more efficient, I believe that this tendency to expect immediate results is dangerous to our future.
